Springtime Mantel Decor

It’s official now: Spring has sprung. It’s time to put away the deep colors and introspective mood of winter and to lighten up. At Old World Stoneworks, we like to start by freshening the mantel with a special springtime look. Here are a few of our favorite simple mantel looks for spring.

Floral

All over the country, the flowers are pushing out of the ground, resulting in glorious floral displays. Gather a few tulips, daffodils and irises from the yard – or buy a few at your florist if you’re in a more urban area – and bring them inside. Display them in vases or, for an extra cute look, try an old-timey watering can. You can stick with one color theme like the mantel on the left or mix it up with different color and hues like the arrangement on the right.

Springtime Cactus

Did we say tulips are pushing up all around the country? Oops. If you live in the Southwest, your blooms will be more of the ocotillo or saguaro persuasion. For a pretty Southwest springtime mantel, plant small succulents in neutral color pots to really make the green pop! You could also opt for terrarium style moss plants that look great against neutral décor.

Wordy

Are you an expressive person who’s never at a loss for words? Decorate your mantel with promises of springtime. Use children’s blocks or a chalkboard to write out quotes like the awesome spring time mantel below!

Eggs!

For a springtime symbol, you can’t go wrong with eggs. Whether you go full on easter eggs with bunny accents or go for a more traditional look with pretty pastel eggs in birds nests like the pretty yet simple mantels below, nothing says spring time and new life like eggs.
