Art

If you know somebody’s taste really well, surprise them with that perfect piece to go over the mantel. Of course, tastes in art are very individual. Instead, you might gift that special someone with a trip to go art shopping and let them pick out their favorite painting or print.

Overmantel

Maybe your loved one already has a nice mantel. But how about an overmantel? These ornamental structures or panels date back to the Old World. In France, they were originally called trumeau, carved from stone, and served as a smoke chamber. At Old World Stoneworks, we keep up the tradition, making a variety of cast stone overmantels.

Fire tools

Aroma Stone

People who enjoy fires are generally sensual folks who like warm skin and good smells. An aroma stone hangs by a hook from a fireplace screen. Add a few drops of essential oil to the stone, and the heat of the fire wafts it through the house. You can order one made by Goods of the Woods through Amazon. Pine, cedar or cinnamon oil works nicely with the hearth’s ambiance.

Range Hood

Installing a range hood instantly improves a kitchen’s air quality and atmosphere. Range hoods remove excess heat, provide additional lighting, make the air cleaner and generally improve your property value. This is sure to thrill the chef’s out there.
