Sometimes it’s hard to imagine how beautiful your outdated fireplace could look with a little TLC – and some help from your friends at Old World Stoneworks. And we hate to admit it, but sometimes we get a little too busy working on projects for our customers to tackle our own homes.
Recently, our general manager Michael Jung decided his home hearth was way overdue for an update. We know that traditional materials like granite, tile and slate look great for fireplace updates. Michael decided to pair our Capri with slate to modernize his living room.
You know that old saying about a picture being worth a thousand words? We took about a thousand pictures (more or less) to document the transformation, so this week we’ll mostly let the photos speak for themselves.
Before: Old white brick fireplace, the time has come for a new look.
Goodbye white bricks!
Measure twice, cut once, and make sure everything is level.
Ready to attach the new mantel surround.
Looking good so far.
It’s going to take a lot of slate to cover these old white bricks.
Yep, a lot of slate.
Wow! It was so worth the effort.
Add in a cool screen and ultramodern shelving for a very contemporary look.
Ready to invite friends over and show off the new look.
Michael is totally happy with the new look of his living room.
Once our customers update their rooms with a new mantel, their only regret is waiting so long. Do you have an outdated fireplace? We’d love to make you as delighted as Michael. Call us today and we’ll help you strategize for a happy hearth future.
