Before and After: Avalon fireplace surround from Kathy Banak with Authentic Home

It is always awe-inspiring when designers use their magic to create a beautiful living space for the whole family to enjoy. And even more so, when you learn that one of Old World Stoneworks’ most popular item from our Mantels collection –  ‘The Avalon Fireplace‘ has been used in a makeover project.

So when we heard from our friend Kathy Banak from Authentic Homes about a home transformation that she had just completed, we were very excited to learn more about it.

“My client wanted a lighter feminine feel to the fireplace lounge and dining room and our first project was to replace the fireplace.  The heavy stone fireplace was replaced with a new concrete surround and hearth by Old World Stoneworks and detailed with beveled edging and a curved top…

An opal colored metallic finish was applied for the final coat which gives the fireplace a truly unique look.  New furnishings in a pale grey, white and sea foam green color palette make this sitting area the perfect place for entertaining.”  –  Kathy Banak, Authentic Home
