Project of the Month: Green Bedroom Makeover

At Old World Stoneworks, nothing delights us more than seeing customers transform their spaces by installing our beautiful cast stone mantels and range hoods. And we are so honored when they choose to share their before and after photos with us, and allow us to share them with you.

This week we’re featuring an Arkansas farmhouse inhabited by Ashley and Michael Mosley and their four children. They are the proud new owners of our lovely Laurent mantel surround, chosen as part of their master bedroom redesign.

Meet the Designer

Tobi Fairley is the designer behind the Arkansas farmhouse’s new look. The Little Rock-based designer runs a full-service consulting and design company called Tobi Fairley & Associates. Her motto is “Bright, bold, tailored.”

You can certainly see that in her work. Ms. Fairley holds degrees in interior design, accounting and business, and has run her design firm for more than 15 years. Many leading magazines, including Traditional Home, House Beautiful, Better Homes & Gardens and Southern Living have featured her design projects in their glossy pages. Consumers can bring her aesthetics into their homes by purchasing fabrics, pillows and lightings from the Tobi Fairley Home product line.

Before and After

While the farmhouse looks traditional, it was actually newly built. So the crew was starting from scratch, rather than revamping an outdated fireplace. Here’s what the hearth area looked like pre-Laurent.

Before we show you the completed hearth, feast your eyes on the rest of the room. Ms. Fairley chose a Sherwin Williams paint color called “Creamy,” which is much warmer than stark white. She used a Schumacher fabric print called “Hothouse Flowers” in a natural yet dynamic palette of greens and brown. We love the cute monogrammed pillows with a big “M” for Mosley.

This room came out so beautiful that it was featured on the April issue of Traditional Home!

Here it is, our Laurent in its new home!

And not only did the Mosleys decide to place a Laurent in their living space, they also picked one to give their office an extra spark of life.

We love this mantel’s pleasing combination of angles and curves, and are glad Miss Fairley appreciated its charm. We wish the Mosleys many happy hours sitting in their matching chairs before a crackling fire.
