We love Fireplaces – they’re one of the few places inside a home where family and friends gather around and share everything – from interesting stories, to warm food, and gifts during the holiday season.
And for Halloween, it’s the perfect time to add simple and easy little touches to your Fireplace Mantels and make your family room spooktacular! There’s always a lot that you can do when you have plenty of time, but what happens when you need the room ready in a few hours. And under budget?
Here’s a collection of our favorite Halloween Decoration Ideas, for your fireplace mantel – which one is your favorite?
A branch cut as wide as your mantle; spray painted leaves; and some glitter to choice. Add a few candle sticks painted orange or bronze for that added drama, and any other bits and bobs you’ like, to add to the spookiness.

If you love reading Edgar Allan Poe during the Halloween night like me, then this decoration idea will knock your socks off! All you need are a few branches (painted black if you have extra time), a couple of paper cut-outs of Mr. Poe’s infamous ‘raven’, and a couple of pumpkins, either in their natural orange or painted white for contrast.

Or, if too much mystery and macabre in your living room isn’t your cup of tea, maybe you ought to try something more colorful.
The key highlight in the above mantel of course, is the addition of bats, cut out of paper. The contrast between the orange from the pumpkins, the dark from the bats and the whitish-grey from the spider’s web creates an amazingly vibrant setting. It’s a lot of work, but definitely worth it in the end.

Similar to the idea of the cut-out bats creating an eye catching contrast, a silhouette of that evil witch you read about when you were young does an equally impressive job. Adding a few pumpkins is all you need to create an old-school Halloween décor.

If you have a Fireplace that looks like it’s from the medieval times, then half the job is done! Just throw in a few pumpkins and a few candles, and you’ll be ready to impress your friends and family in no time. It doesn’t get any simpler than this.

The fake book covers (hand crafted are absolutely fine) create such a unique way to send your message across. And you don’t need to worry about buying special templates and paper cut-outs either!
We hope these ideas help you to come up with some fast and easy decoration styles for your own home.
